David's creative process is centred on the development of complex linear drawings, the geometric origins of which, provide him with a diverse range of harmonic and rhythmic structures. He creates his designs in glass, ceramic or a combination of both, avoiding the use of colours or glazes which he believes can distract the eye from the purity of the component structures and the interrelationships which occur between them. Every piece is, after intensive planning and intricate cutting by hand, carefully constructed in the kiln to be fused together by heat creating unique results. The moment the kiln is opened is always a time of great excitement to him. He enjoys the purity of form that can be derived from geometry it has balance and movement and he continues to explore this wealth of inspiration never knowing what may be around the next corner. David has won many prizes including the Devon Guild of Craftsmen Visual Arts Prize in 2008.

CACTI FLORA. A cold miserable day in January lead Louise to visit The Eden Project in Cornwall. She immediately felt inspired by the Cacti Garden and was transported to the desert. Louise has since discovered cacti of all types and sizes; tall, narrow, extremely prickly ones, small fluffy spheres, bulbous forms and juicy green succulents. The stunning beauty of the huge scarlet and magenta flowers transfixed her. She visualized their wonderful forms made from the most fragile of materials, glass. A cold January day was no longer miserable.

Richie has been designing and making hand blown glass for the past three years. His work explores the aesthetic properties of the material through hot and cold working processes. Each piece reconfigures its curvilinear form as the viewer moves around the work. Diffusion patterns created by the cane work cause playful, but formal, optical effects that highlight the transparency of the clear glass, the translucency of the coloured glass, and the held inner space of the sculptural forms.
