Robert Hills

Artist Blacksmith - Plymouth, Devon

Inspired by objects that have been discarded, Robert sees through the superficial corrosion to the beauty of a form and the practical attributes. He combines old and new materials with a sensitive and intuitive approach. He is a talented artist-maker with an eye for detail, manifested by thoughtfully designed, high specification and well finished works of functional art with character and presence. Rob has collaborated and built bespoke chandeliers for a designer that have been exhibited and sold world wide and continues to develop his own designs in the versatile and enduring medium of metal. He is happy to work with clients on commissions of a wide range of utilisations.

Melanie Guy

Metal Artist - Callington, Cornwall

The dividing line between art, craft and design grows less distinct... "I work mostly in pewter metal, designing and extending the possibilities of this metal as an art medium. This expressive method which I use on relief pieces, utilises reflected light on pewter forms derived from my interpretation of landscape and observations of the sea. When passing by the metal surfaces, light moves and appears ethereal and transient, resembling delicate, impermanent qualities such as those in the balance of the natural world."

Katie Lake

Contemporary Metal Work - Plymouth

Designer maker Katie Lake produces distinctive sculptural metalwork for interior and exterior environments and specialises in garden products and furniture, often combining steel with glass elements. Katie accepts commissions for public and private work. Her work is available in galleries, National Trust properties, craft centres and sculpture gardens nationally.
