Jan Brewerton and Debby Mason Greeting Cards Launch Event: Saturday 2nd August 2014

Please join us for a summerly drink and have a chat with the artists. All are welcome to meet Jan Brewerton and Debby Mason at 45 Southside Gallery on the afternoon of the 2nd of August 2014 from 3 to 6pm.

Original paintings and prints are on display and for sale throughout August.

45 Southside Gallery launches two new ranges to add to their popular greetings cards. The new ranges are by Plymouth artists Debby Mason and Jan Brewerton.

45 Southside started publishing a range of images taken from original poetrytiles by Iris Milward in 2012. It has grown very rapidly into a successful greeting card publishing business with over 100 stockists and 42 images across three ranges now available.

Both new ranges are colourful and lively, some with a slight vintage feel, and complement the existing range of poetrytile greetings cards by Iris Milward. There really is a card available for every occasion.

Plymouth-based artist Jan Brewerton’s prints and paintings have their foundations in domesticity; In its details, its memories and its rituals. Individual works begin as close studies of everyday domestic objects – motifs arising in the forms of vessels, artefacts, implements, textiles, fruit forms, patterns and natural materials.

DM28-Stag-WebA stag, some chickens, a hare and a dodo by popular Plymouth printmaker Debby Mason are also new, in addition to her existing range of British Marine Life. All her cards are reproduced from her hand-coloured etchings. Her natural history illustrations are always full of detail and very lively, even the dodo.DM25-Dodo-Web

Poetrytile greeting cards by Iris Milward is the third range available wholesale or retail from 45 Southside. Each card image is taken from an original tile handmade by Iris. The combination of animal, quote and the calligraphy arrangement make this a very popular and unique range of cards for all occasions.
